Our first meeting with our suited and booted groom, Robert was at the St Margarets C Of E Church, High Halstow, Kent. What a charming young chap who was ever so friendly and at complete ease with us from the get go. It was great to see such a nice group of humble men in Royal Air Force uniforms bursting with pride.

We didn’t have long before guests were arriving and they absolutely arrived in style. In came the double-decker red, old London bus. I hadn’t seen one of these in a while and it was amazing to see such an old-school mode of transport especially for Rob and Hollie’s guests.

My initial glimpse of Hollie was when she stood along the red carpet and walked down the aisle. She looked fabulous and her dress fitted perfectly. With an elegant up-do hairstyle and a diamante hairband, Hollie looked tremendously classy and left guests breathless as she entered the church.

The ceremony came to a finish and whilst Hollie and Rob signed their new marriage certificates we were entertained by two very talented musicians. With a pianist and cellist wonderfully complimenting one another, our ears were blissfully in heaven.

Next up, our favourite venue – The Knowle Country House. We really do love it here and they treat us videographers, photographers, in fact all suppliers, so well. They really are lovely staff to work alongside.

Together with photographer, Fiona Stone, we headed to the back gardens with Hollie and Rob and got some sweet couple footage. In addition to the grounds, the back gardens are perfect for the real natural shots, whereby the couple were at complete ease and being their lovely selves. The back gardens are situated around a large pond overlooking beautiful fields surrounded by trees and wildlife. It’s a hidden asset to the Knowle that really adds that cherry on the top of the cake.

The wedding breakfast was superb and the superhero theme was awesome! The table plan was completely personal to the couple and a true reflection of their personalities. Whilst one table was Catwoman another, Batman and Spiderman the guests were kept well entertained. They were also faced with some seriously secret missions to complete and it was a great laugh, with guests mingling and a lovely atmosphere to be a part of.

Before the speeches were to commence it was time for us to have a little break. It’s always a slight relief for Ryan too, when I’ve complained throughout the day about my rumbling tummy.  I really need to learn to bring snacks! Today we decided to embrace on a tasty treat at Mc Donald’s and as soon as Hollie and Rob caught hearing of this they put in a request. In all our time working at weddings never have we had a Mc Donald’s request during the wedding breakfast but this couple certainly did.  Being their brilliant selves we responded to the appeal and supplied them both with large milkshakes – perfect for toasting the speeches! It gave the guests a giggle and each to their very own, it was their special day after all.

Honestly Hollie and Rob were such an endearing couple to video, we even got a special thank you in Rob’s speech even though it’s our job and it really was a pleasant wedding for us to be involved in!

Hollie’s father did an incredibly impressive remake of the famous ‘Taken’ film released in 2008. If you’re unsure of the film the famed Liam Neeson quoted something like this… “I don’t know who you are. I don’t know what you want. If you are looking for ransom, I can tell you I don’t have money. But what I do have are a very particular set of skills…. “Hollie’s dad did a cracking adaption of this towards Rob regarding Hollie and it was a brilliant speech. One of the most iconic we’ve seen.

Once again we were hosted into the evening’s celebrations with the wonderful Damien, the resident DJ at the Knowle. An announcement was made and guests started gathering around the dancefloor to witness the first dance between the happy couple. It was at this point when I was given an important job to do, setting off the confetti cannon alongside Damien’s assistant. With the cannons in place and Ed Sheerans’ ‘Thinking Out Loud’ beginning we were all set to go.  Hollie and Rob glided along the dancefloor beautifully and as the song bridged, out popped the cannon. It was an explosion of colour and laughter as surprised guests jumped in shock. An incredibly simple effect but wow – it looked amazing!

The party was in full swing and it was time for us to leave, a great shame – I would have loved to have stayed for a boogie with a fabulous bunch of people but the London train was calling and home time was approaching.
