The Wedding of
Charlotte + Danny
9 June 2015
On my travels back from London the skies were looking gloomier and gloomier as I headed Kent bound. I met Ryan at Ebbsfleet International Train Station and we headed onwards to Charlotte’s mum, Diane’s house in Sittingbourne. Just as we parked up and left the car to load ourselves with equipment the heavens opened and there was one almighty downpour. Fortunately for me I found a raincoat in the car but Ryan arrived on location looking like a drowned rat and I stupidly straightened my hair, so was an ideal candidate for the John Frieda ‘Frizz Ease’ advert.
We were welcomed into the house and it was lovely to see such a big group of giggling girls, manic men with last minute outfit decisions, cute kids complimenting the beautiful bride and a mist of hair-sprayed air throughout the house. It really was a great atmosphere and at the centre of the hustle and bustle was our bride-to-be with a glass of champers in hand and undergoing the final touches to her hair by one of her talented bridesmaids.
The flower girls and page boys looked like a little unit of juniors with a very important job to do! Among them was Charlotte and Danny’s beautiful daughter; Myah. They carried it off very well, were extremely well behaved and a real credit to their parents :)
It was almost time to leave and that meant one thing, time to get the dress on… Wow, what a dress! The most unusual dress we’ve ever seen, all the way from Turkey in fact! An ivory shade, with a figure hugging top and torso and flower ruffled, bow decorated bottom. Difficult to explain but you really must have a look at its unique detail. It was certainly going to be a real treat for Danny’s eyes.
Means of transport was a beauty, two gracious horses with a carriage (Just Dandy) in tow awaiting Charlotte and her father.
Ryan and I continued onto the Holy Trinity Church in Milton Regis where we met Danny and his groomsmen. Luckily the weather had dried up and we didn’t arrive at the church in our previous state. It always seems to get its shine on when it’s the right time, hooray for English weather! It was a picturess church, perfect for us as videographers, and the beautiful bridal party were certainly a magnificent vision.
Meanwhile inside the church with his friends and family surrounding him and the prospect of marrying the love of his life Danny excitedly awaited the big moment. “Will the congregation please stand” all eyes on the aisle and in they came! Stunning.
The ceremony was really rather sweet and the church was completely full with family, friends, colleagues and an ample amount of footballers! Danny & Charlotte are clearly very popular and this made the atmosphere of the whole day a real delight to be a part of with lots to film.
Next up, the Coniston Hotel and Restaurant in the heart of Sittingbourne originally built in 1880. Completely developed and stylised to provide a fully functional wedding suite, the venue was more than equipped to accommodate the large number of guests. They were kept well entertained throughout the afternoon with a personalised Mr & Mrs mini golf course by ‘All Hired Out’ a funky photo booth and a table full of tasty sweets to delve through. Talking of sweet things, the cake was absolutely marvellous and deserves a special mention. Made by the amazingly skilful ‘Kent Cakes’ the cake offered a five tier sponge delight, with the front decorated in white roses and the back coated in chocolate droplets dripping down each layer. Highly impressive and I’m sure it tasted just as great.
The evening was drawing in, the drinks were flowing, speeches were complete and more and more guests were arriving. What a lovely day for us as videographers to be a part of. It was amazing to see such childhood sweethearts having the wedding of their dreams and we wish them all the happiness in the world together.
Absolutely amazing.
